Therapy &
Workshops
There is a range of ways to work with me. I try to meet you where you are and work from that starting point. It’s a collaboration. It is required to start with a bootcamp or the couples intensive so that we can be on level footing about the approach I take. Have a read below and feel free to reach out with questions!
Relational Bootcamps
What is Relational Bootcamp?
I offer Terry Real’s Essential Relationship Skills Bootcamp Workshop, a comprehensive two-day intensive program designed to condense 7-10 months of traditional therapy, practices, and education into one weekend.
This workshop provides a less intense learning environment than traditional therapy, making it more accessible and affordable. It's open to individuals or couples of any marital status or sexual orientation who are dedicated to enhancing their relationships and refining their interpersonal skills. Through presentations, experiential exercises, and video demonstrations, participants will gain valuable insights into relationship dynamics and practical strategies for fostering healthier interactions.
Why do your bootcamp with Robin McKenna?
With direct training from Terry Real and over 30 years of experience, I bring a wealth of expertise to our collaborative work. Having facilitated The Relational Bootcamp for over 700 individuals, I am one of the most seasoned facilitators in the country. My extensive background equips me to guide participants through transformative learning experiences, empowering them to navigate relational challenges with confidence and insight.
What will couples learn?:
Participants in the Bootcamp will uncover and address ineffective relationship patterns, replacing them with strategies that promote harmony and connection. Through interactive sessions and peer learning opportunities, individuals will develop a deeper understanding of relational dynamics and acquire practical skills for fostering positive interactions.
By the end of the workshop, participants will emerge with enhanced relational knowledge and a renewed sense of empowerment in their relationships.
What are couples saying about Bootcamp with Robin?
My partner dragged me to this, and I've been thanking him ever since. It's fundamentally changed the way we relate to each other. Giving us common language and skills to use. Our relationship survived and is now thriving! ~ A.M. (San Francisco, CA)
As a man, this stuff is not my cup of tea, but the way that Robin teaches it is functional, practical, effective, and yes relational! I'm getting a lot more out of my relationship and I think my wife would agree I'm supporting her a lot more too. ~ M.S. (Greenville, SC)

Grow Your Wise Adult Self
This class is for anyone who has times where you feel like there are some underdeveloped areas (or parts) of you. Anyone who battles with self worth issues. Anyone who is overly impacted by others thoughts, feelings, words, actions or who are impervious to them. This is for anyone who struggles with attempting to earn their value, or is plagued with a bent toward perfectionism. If you could benefit from upping your "self care" game, asking for what you would like, knowing what you'd like. If you are prone to attempting to control others or have a hard time saying "no."
The Wise Adult Self is the cultivated part of ourselves that is able to survey the landscape of nuanced options available to reach our desired goal from an emotionally mature place. The typical default we are attempting to shift from is our "triggered" or "activated" or "flipped lid" state of a threat response.
If you would like to learn, cultivate and practice specific skills to strengthen the capacity of your own Wise Adult, this course is for you.
Each class has 60-75 minutes of formal lecture and handouts, 15-30 minutes for participant questions. Participants are invited to send questions in between classes and will be given a recorded MP3 of the lectures each week, for personal review.
What is a wise adult?
A wise adult is the part of our brain that can respond to the complicated and difficult task of navigating life and relationships waaaay more effectively than the reactive and protective child part of our brain. The wise adult part of us has to be CULTIVATED – and exactly who would have taught us how to identify and then practice the necessary skills to strengthen this wise adult? No one! So… This class is for you!
